America 250 Fitness Challenge

Celebrate America 250: Take the 250-Minute Movement Challenge!

This Fourth of July, we're celebrating something truly special—America's 250th birthday! As our country marks 250 years of history, freedom, and resilience, let's honor the occasion in a way that celebrates one of our greatest freedoms: the ability to move our bodies.

The Challenge

Starting July 4, your goal is simple:

Exercise for a total of 250 minutes in one week.

You have until July 11 to reach your goal. That's just over 35 minutes a day. Every minute counts!

Your 250 minutes can include:

  • Walking

  • Strength training

  • Yoga or stretching

  • Cycling

  • Swimming

  • Dancing

  • Hiking

  • Group fitness classes

  • Gardening or other active outdoor work

  • Any activity that gets you moving!

The goal isn't perfection—it's progress.

Regular physical activity is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Every workout, every walk, and every stretch helps improve your overall health. Exercise can:

  • Strengthen your heart and lungs

  • Increase energy and endurance

  • Improve balance, flexibility, and strength

  • Help maintain healthy bones and muscles

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Boost your mood by releasing feel-good endorphins

  • Improve sleep quality

  • Support a healthy immune system

  • Help manage weight and blood sugar

  • Keep your mind sharp as you age

Perhaps most importantly, regular movement helps us stay independent and able to enjoy the activities we love for years to come.

Make It Fun!

Don't think of this as a chore—think of it as a celebration. Invite a friend for a walk. Try a new fitness class. Dance around the kitchen while making dinner. Take the scenic route through your neighborhood. Every active minute brings you one step closer to your goal.

Keep track of your minutes throughout the week and celebrate your accomplishment when you reach 250!

Let's Celebrate Together

America's story has always been about perseverance, determination, and looking toward the future. This week, let's celebrate those same qualities by investing in our own health and well-being.

Whether you're just beginning your fitness journey or you've been exercising for years, this challenge is for you.

Who's in? I can't wait to see you reach your 250!
